The Princess on Good Nutrition

I looked and looked but could NOT find my tiara this morning. How could I have lost it so early in the morning?

Then I realized…my royal tummy was rumbling and my royal blood-sugar was dropping!

I decided that it is an absolute requirement for the Princess to be fully nourished before she is assaulted by the day!

So, I snacked on something with a bit of jam and sipped a wee cafe and … quite magically … my tiara appeared!

So remember: it is IMPORTANT, make that IMPERATIVE, to nourish the princess within!!!

This was in the signature line of an e-mail the princess received today:

Handle every stressful situation like a dog.
If you can’t eat it or play with it,
Just pee on it and walk away.

While the princess is pretty sure that peeing on random things is not very princessy, she does applaud the concept!

So handle every stressful situation like a princess.
Try it on and see if it fits.
If that doesn’t work, take a bite and see if it kills you.
If all else fails, kiss it and turn it into a prince.

The Return of the Princess

Yes! She’s back! I know it’s been a while, but to be honest, the princess just needed a break! The problem is, it’s still more fun to NOT be the Princess!

So today’s question: How can I make it fun to always be the Princess?

First, I think I have to make the Princess more fun than the other characters I tend to play!

The Joker: I have to remind myself that the joker never really gets any where. As much fun as it is to get a few laughs, it is often at the expense of others and that just is never good form…so bye bye joker!

The Fortune Teller: I can’t tell the future any more than the MBAs on Wall Street and I hearby vow to stop pretending I can. I’m not a know-it-all! I’m a Princess!

The Evil Step-Sister: Now this one is fun and will definitely be missed! Let’s all admit it….it’s fun to be bad and sometimes it’s really fun to be mean… but enough! I can havve just as much fun being nice and making people feel good!

OK-please bid a fond farewell to some of the characters you have come to love (or hate) over the years. As of right now, they are exiting stage-left!

A Princesses Guide to Honesty

There’s honesty and then there’s the honesty that people want to hear. I believe that a princess should always tell the truth, but how does one make the truth palatable? For instance, when the corporate muckety-mucks say, “We really want to hear what you think”, do they really mean that they want to hear what I think? Or do they mean, “We really want you to tell us what we think you think?” I think the latter!

So, the question really becomes how does the princess tell them the truth and yet still tell them what they think I think? My guess is it is all in carefully choosing my words. Now that is not always something that I am known for doing well! It may be time for the Princess to expand her vocabulary a bit. Is it possible to always find a positive way to say a negative thing? This could be a fun exercise!

I think: Don’t punish people for not wanting to do something that is no fun…

I say: Can we try rewarding people for accepting challenging assignments?

This could work! What do ya think? It may take a little practice!

Welcome to the new week!!

This week, this princess will be making a vow to try much harder to stay on track. Here’s a list of all of the things in which I need to stay focused:

Sit up straight! A princess has proper posture.

Keep the to-do list up-to-date! A princess does not forget things (Already forgot 2 things and it is not even 9am!)

Smile!!! A princess can put on a happy face even in the worst of times (and it may help with the headache).

Eat something! Low blood-sugar never helped anyone!

Get at least one thing DONE each day!!! Accomplishment should help the princess feel princessy!

Princess-free Friday

What do ya think? Will indulging my desire to escape the princess now and then just make it harder to summon her when I need her? Probably! So, I am going to leave the door open for Princess-free Friday, but I don’t think I will introduce it today. Seems the princess has been struggling a bit and really does not need the reinforcement of yet another day off!

So, chin up! Tiara on! And ruffles fluffed! The princess is here today!!!

The Princess Is So Tired Today

Interesting question: Does the princess ever get a day off? I’m very tired today. Maybe even too tired to maintain my royal decorum! Is it possible that I can maybe give the Princess just one day off? She’s been very very good lately!

Another question: Should being positive and nice really be such hard work? Shouldn’t it just come naturally to a Princess? Maybe I haven’t given the Princess enough time. I have to believe at some point it will just be second nature to act “royally”.

I have faith! The day will come…but for today, maybe just one day off…
